Seminar on Incorporating IT Certification in Academia and MoU with EC-Council and MacAsia |
|
Aligned with Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s vision and mission, Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (MIIT) strives to implement advanced technology partnership through internationally recognised IT players into its curriculum. Currently Microsoft syllabus are incorporated into the Diploma in Information Technology (DIT), Cisco are embedded into both Diploma in Systems and Networking (DSN) and Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Networking System (BNS). Besides that MIIT has also included IBM and Oracle modules into software development and database related subjects respectively.
In line with this, two highly acclaimed partnerships are being sought to be integrated into the Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) in Computer E-Commerce (BCEC), Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) in E-Commerce with Multimedia (BITEC), Bachelor of Business Technology (Hons) in Computer Entrepreneurial Management (BCEM), Bachelor of Multimedia Technology (Hons) in Interactive Multimedia Design (BIMD) and Bachelor of Multimedia Technology (Hons) in Computer Animation Design (BCAD). The two new partnerships are EC-Council, an internationally accredited body in the domain of e-Business and IT Security, and MacAsia, an Apple authorised institution for digital media technologies. The IT professional certification is now an essential element which becomes an expectation for employers. With graduates seeking every advantage in a tight job market, these certifications will make the difference between getting hired and getting passed over. The signing of MoU between UniKL and EC-Council Academy is to recognise MIIT as EC-Council Accredited Training Partner (ATP). While the signing of MoU between UniKL and MacAsia is intended to support MIIT to become an Apple Authorised Training Centre for Education (AATCe).
This seminar will focus on how EC-Council’s “vendor-neutral” e-Business certification and MacAsia’s, “vendor-based” Apple Pro certification institution can help MIIT undergraduates drill down into a specific product or technology, and become valuable in the marketplace.
