UniKL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Malaysian Association of Creativity and Innovation (MACRI) after the launching ceremony of Creativity and Innovation Club (CIC) by Y. Bhg. Datuk Nam bin Marthinin (Director General of MARA). In his speech, he announced that UniKL has been given the honour by MARA to establish a MACRI Chapter at UniKL City Campus, which is the first in any institution of higher learning in Malaysia.

Y. Bhg. Dato’ Ghazi Sheikh Ramli, the President of MACRI, a non-government organisation (NGO), said in his speech that the main interest of the organisation is to promote the culture of creativity and innovation through various programmes, trainings and workshops. One of the main programmes of MACRI is the establishment of the Creativity and Innovation Club (CIC). The idea of was the brainchild of Y. Bhg. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Entrepreneurial and Co-Operative Development (MeCD). The objectives of this club are to become the centre of creativity and innovation among young Malaysians and to continue the Government’s effort in developing human capital that is highly capable in producing a K-nation. Hence, the establishment of CIC can be expanded in other institutions of higher learning, technical institutions and schools in Malaysia to put our nation on a fast track towards its higher goal.
