UniKL Partners with ORACLE Corporation Malaysia |

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri receiving a souvenir from ORACLE Corporation Malaysia. | An agreement was signed between UniKL and ORACLE Corporation Malaysia on April 2, 2009 as an initiative to support government plans to develop Malaysia as a regional hub for Aviation Technology. The event was held at Central Ballroom of Hilton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The strategic partnership with ORACLE focused on the development of aviation technology specifically in UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT). ORACLE is the largest enterprise software company in the world with more than 320,000 customers across the globe. From its inception to the present, ORACLE has focused on innovation and results, and how it can benefit companies and industries. Many prominent companies around the world utilized ORACLE technology, applications and services to help them manage complex information system efficiently. The ORACLE Academy & Education Foundation’s initiatives reached over one million students worldwide by partnering with schools, districts and ministries in over 85 countries to help them develop technology and business skills required for 21st century careers. The mutual objective of this agreement is to create and produce graduates with highly specialised skills positioned for the growth of the aviation maintenance industry locally and regionally, and to mutually benefit from the strategic advantage gain in preparing the talent pool to support the Government of Malaysia’s initiative to make Malaysia a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) hub in the region. ORACLE also plays an important role in supporting UniKL MIAT’s industrial projects specifically in aviation by sharing expertise and implementation. This objective can be met by utilizing ORACLE’s Complex Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (CMRO) business application in aviation maintenance industry to develop efficient, quality and world class aviation maintenance engineers and technicians demanded by the industry. Students in UniKL MIAT will have access to specialised ORACLE application modules including CMRO and MRO service application for aerospace and defence manufacturers. Students who complete the degree programme may be eligible for specialised ORACLE certification and will be well prepared to enter the aviation technology marketplace.
