A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between UniKL and Tg. Agas Builders Sdn. Bhd. (TABSB) on April 27, 2009 with the objective of realising UniKL Institute of Oil & Gas and Maritime Technology project in Tanjong Agas, Pahang. Tg. Agas Builders Chairman, Yang Amat Mulia, Tengku Muda Pahang, Tengku Abdul Rahman Al Haj Ibni Sultan Hj. Ahmad Shah Al Musta’in Billah inked the pact with UniKL President/CEO Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri at Bestari Lecture Hall, UniKL City Campus. The signing was witnessed by Tg. Agas Builders Deputy Executive Chairman, Mr. Mohd Badaruddin Masodi and UniKL Deputy President (Academic & Technology), Prof. Dr. Mohamad Azemi Mohamad Nor.

Tg. Agas Supply Base & Maritime Services Sdn. Bhd. (TASBMS) was incorporated with the purpose of developing Tanjong Agas Oil & Gas and Maritime Industrial Park which measure 4,098 acres land area in Tanjong Agas, Pekan, Pahang. The collaboration between TABSB, (a nominee company of TASBMS) with UniKL, specified to establish an Institute of Oil & Gas and Maritime Technology in Tanjong Agas which specialises in oil and gas activities, shipbuilding, fabrication and maintenance technology. Under this agreement, UniKL and TABSB will share expertise and relevant experience for the management and the implementation of this project within the period of two years.

According to TABSB, Tanjong Agas Oil & Gas and Maritime Industrial Park will be a modern One-stop Centre Service and Offshore Base that will serve and support the Region’s enormous and rapidly growing Upstream and Downstream Oil & Gas Exploration and Production activities.

Hj. Mohamed Hisham Abdul Ghani, UniKL Deputy President (Management & Services) and TABSB Managing Director, Mr. Mohd Faidzal Ahmad Mahidin.
