SSM-UniKL Outreach Programme: Think Business, Think SSM!

SSM-UniKL Outreach Programme was successfully launched at UniKL City Campus by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Azmi Bin Ariffin, Chief Executive Officer, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) on January 27, 2010 with the tagline ‘Perniagaan Anda Bermula Di SSM’. Hosted by UniKL, this three-day event was filled with activities aimed to expose and promote the functions of SSM and its Outreach Programme to the public and students who are keen to venture in the business world and potential entrepreneurs.

Students were also exposed to information and opportunities on how to start a business plan with SSM in its ‘Business Clinic’ or consultation sessions held throughout this event. A mobile business registration counter is also opened for public till 29th January to enable them to register their company with SSM. In line with UniKL’s Vision and Mission to produce enterprising global technopreneurs, this is a positive step for UniKL to promote its entrepreneurship programmes to the public and potential students.

“By organising this programme with UniKL, I hope that we will be able to attract more people especially the younger generation like students to embark on their own business adventure and register with SSM. When you think of business, think of SSM”, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Azmi Bin Ariffin, Chief Executive Officer, SSM remarked during his opening speech.

Among other activities held at UniKL City Campus in conjunction with this programme are, exhibition booths at the lobby, consultation sessions with related agencies such as Bank Negara, SME Corporation and Ministry of Finance, series of talks on entrepreneurship, catur bestari competition and sketch competition. The presence of Media Prima’s top host and celebrities, Maria Tunku Sabri and Azizah Arifin throughout this event also has graced the atmosphere of this programme.
