UniKL Students Representing Malaysia to the International Undergraduate MIS Case Competition (CaseIT 2010), Vancouver, Canada

Malaysian Institute of Information Technology, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (MIIT, UniKL City Campus) once again, made the headlines for UniKL in the international level when three of its students are the sole participants representing Malaysia to the upcoming International Undergraduate MIS Case Competition (CaseIT 2010) at Vancouver, Canada.

Following the success in organising ARIES Malaysia Business IT Case Challenge held from 2 till 5 December 2009, MIIT’s ARIES President, Mohd Amin Mohamed Arip with team mates Huzaifah Jamaludin and Mohd Azizul Dahalan have made it to the finals of CaseIT 2010 International Competition which will commence from March 31 till April 4, 2010 at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada. The competition, since its inception in 2004, had received support from many corporate sponsors including IBM Canada, Accenture, SAS Institute (Canada) and many others.

CaseIT is an annual undergraduate case competition with a strong Management Information Systems (MIS) focus designed to find the best and brightest students in strategic IT case analysis. The competition also involves teams being presented a real business problem that they must provide critical analysis and solutions for within a 24-hour deliberation period. CaseIT is a forum where students from various backgrounds of IT and business can showcase their skills in areas such as teamwork, problem solving, and critical thinking to a panel of industry professionals. Various universities from North America, Asia and Europe had competed for the top twelve spots to qualify in this competition. Despite the competitive preliminary round, UniKL team managed to stand out and steal one spot to the finals along with the other three universities in Asia, namely, Hong Kong Baptist University, National University of Singapore and American University of Beirut.

The team is proudly sponsored by MSC Malaysia, through Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and UniKL for their stay in Vancouver during this competition including flight tickets, accommodation, registration fees and contingencies fund.
