The second Malaysia Microsoft Office Challenge 2010 (MMOC) was launched at UniKL British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) on March 30, 2010. Organised by Insyirah Technology Sdn. Bhd. (ITSB), an ICT based company and hosted by UniKL BMI, this launching marked the commencement of the zone institutional stage which will take place between April and May before the national final stage in June.
“Through this championship, our graduates will be well informed on the current demands and requirements of the industries especially in IT skills, which is essential in the local and global job market”, UniKL Chairman, Y.B. Datuk Dr. Adham Baba remarked in his officiating speech. Following the success of Nurhana Mohd Tamin, UniKL BMI student who represented Malaysia to the International Worldwide MMOC 2009 at Toronto, Canada, Y.B. Datuk also expressed his hope to see more UniKL students emerged champion in international competitions.
The national MMOC aims to search Malaysian champion in using Microsoft Word and Excel. The champion will represent Malaysia against champions from other countries for the title of “World Champion” in Microsoft Office Worldwide Competition 2010, organized by Certiport which will be held at Park City, Utah, the United States of America in August 2010.
Also present during the launching were UniKL Deputy President (Technopreneur and Student Affairs), Prof. Dr. Abu Talib Othman, Managing Director of Insyirah Technology Sdn. Bhd., Encik Zaini Mohamed Noah and UniKL BMI Dean, Prof. Dr. Badri Abu Bakar.
