Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) hosted a visit by 7 Astronauts and Cosmonauts from Russia, America and Germany on May 19, 2010. These astronauts and cosmonauts are the Executive Committee of Association of Space Explorers (ASE), who are on a site visit to Malaysia in conjunction with their preparation for the ASE Annual Plenary Congress which will be held in October 2010.

The astronauts and cosmonauts are:
Mr. Andy Turnage – ASE Executive Director
Mr. Alexandez Alexandzor – Russian Cosmonaut
Ms. Natalia Kuleshova – Russian Cosmonaut
Mr. Yuriy Usacher - Russian Cosmonaut
Mr. Victor Savinykh - Russian Cosmonaut
Mr. Richard Richards – American Astronaut
Mr. Reinhold Ewald – German Astronaut

ASE is an international non profit professional and educational organisation whose membership consists of space explorers from 35 nations who have flown in space. Founded in 1985, ASE’s mission is to provide a forum and dialogue sessions to the science community with the objective of promoting education in science, innovation and engineering.

The visit was facilitated by Deputy Dean of UniKL MIAT, Mr. Abdul Aziz Ismail and Mr. Mohd Razif Ahmad,of Programme Management Office, UniKL MIAT.
