Universiti of Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET) extended its collaboration in maritime areas through smart partnership with Alam Ship Management Sdn. Bhd and Envirogreen Solutions Sdn. Bhd.

The exchange of Memorandum of Understanding documents with both parties was made during the working visit of Y.B. Dato' Seri Haji Mohd Shafie Haji Apdal, Minister of Rural and Regional Development to  Universiti of Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology on June 3, 2010. Earlier, Y.B. Dato' Seri Haji Mohd Shafie Haji Apdal had visited UniKL RCMP in Ipoh.

Accompanying Y.B. Dato' Seri Haji Mohd Shafie Haji Apdal for the working visit were Y.Bhg. Datin Seri Hajjah Shuryani Datuk Shuaib, Y.B. Dato 'Seri Idris Jusoh, Chairman, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Y.B Datuk Dr. Adham Baba, Chairman, Universiti Kuala Lumpur and Y.Bhg. Puan Nursiah Arshad, Deputy Security General (Policy) of Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.

The MoU between UniKL MIMET and Alam Ship Management Sdn. Bhd. aims to strengthen co-operation in research and development (R & D), training and services in marine and offshore related activities . As for MoU between UniKL dan Envirogreen Solutions Sdn. Bhd.

Both parties will conduct R&D and innovative activities related alternative energy and green technology.
