Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) took a step further in strengthening its connection in the aviation industry through a Memorandum of Agreement signing with its aviation counterpart Integrated Training and Services Group (IT & S), which has expanded its business to several major business subsidiaries dedicated to Aerospace & Flight Training, Aircraft Sales, Aircraft Charters, Leisure Flying, Helicopter Flight Simulation Training, and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Facilities (MRO Facilities) in the General Aviation Industry.
UniKL President/CEO, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri sealed the pact with IT & S Managing Director, Major Mohd Halim Aziz (Rtd) on June 24, 2010 at UniKL City Campus. “This collaboration with IT&S is among the many MOUs that UniKL had signed that is translated into an MOA almost very instantly. This signifies the seriousness of both UniKL and IT&S in achieving the objectives of the collaboration. This smart partnership is also very timely as the University realizes the need to have more industries to work with UniKL to strategise and formulate high quality training in aviation education”, remarked UniKL President/CEO, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri during the signing.

Under this joint venture, UniKL and IT & S will collaborate to among others, qualify for the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCAM) Approved for the extension of maintenance organization and EASA 145 and/or 147 for IT&S maintenance facilities as well as to house UniKL MIAT students in IT&S Ipoh facilities providing accessibility to their aircraft and classrooms.
IT & S Managing Director, Major Mohd Halim Aziz (Rtd) said, “It is an honour for IT&S to seal a collaboration with an established institution such as UniKL and we strongly believe that this collaboration serves as an important platform for both IT&S and UniKL to work towards a common goal of making a significant contribution in aviation training and technologies”.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by UniKL MIAT’s Dean, Prof. Ahmad Zahir Mokhtar and Director of IT & S, Lt. Col. Khairudin Dahlan (Rtd).
