Once again, UniKL Student is representing Malaysia to MMOC World Championship 2010.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) has once again made history when its student, Nor Hidayah Abdul Kahar, Bachelor in Electrical student emerged National Champion in Malaysia Microsoft Office Championship 2010 (MMOC 2010) defeating participants from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Universiti Malaya (UM). This is the second time UniKL BMI student has won this competition. Nor Hidayah will follow the footsteps of Nurhana Mohd Tamin, Data Communication student of UniKL BMI who represented Malaysia in MMOC World Championship at Toronto, Canada in 2009. This year, Nor Hidayah will be representing Malaysia to MMOC World Championship 2010 at Park City, Utah, United States of America.

In celebrating Malaysia’s champion of MMOC 2010, UniKL BMI, the host campus with Insyirah Technology Sdn. Bhd. (ITSB), the organiser, hosted a Gala Night on July 5. 2010 at Dewan Gemilang, UniKL BMI.

The Competition, MMOC 2010 aimed to search Malaysian champion in using Microsoft Word and Excel to represent Malaysia against champions from other countries for the title of “World Champion” in the World Championship to be held at Park City, Utah, United States of America from August 8 until 10, 2010.

There was preliminary round for zone and institute level held last April. Winner at the zone and institution level then competed among themselves in June to represent Malaysia to USA. The champion was awarded based on highest exam scores and lowest exam-taking times.

National champion received a laptop, trophy, medal and certificate with RM1,500 cash and a full sponsored trip to Park City, Utah, USA.

Y. Bhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri, President/CEO, Universiti Kuala Lumpur, has attended the Gala Night representing Y.B. Datuk Dr. Adham Baba, Chairman of UniKL. Other distinguished guests included Y. Bhg. Dato’ Haji Tajul Urus Mat Zain, Chairman of UniKL BMI, Encik Zaini Mohamed Noah, Managing Director ITSB and  Prof. Dr. Badri Abu Bakar, Dean UniKL BMI.
