NCET 2010: Shaping Innovative Technopreneurial Engineers

The 2nd National Conference on Engineering Technopreneurship (NCET 2010) organised by Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) took place at The Legend Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on August 3 till 4, 2010. With a theme Shaping Innovative, Technopreneurial Engineers, this conference was officiated by Y. B. Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA).

Two renowned speakers delivered their keynote speeches on the first day, Ir. Adznir Mokhtar, PRIMA Asia Pacific Consulting Malaysia Managing Director entitled “Building Blocks for Techno-entrepreneurship - Can It Be Realised? - A Review” and also Prof. Dr. Mohamad Khazani Abdullah, Significant Techologies Sdn. Bhd. Chief Technical Officer. Prof. Dr. Mohamad Khazani deliberated on “Issues & Challenges in Research Development and Commercialization”.

A total of 56 papers will be tabled during this 2-day seminar which covered topic on Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Medical Engineering, Technopreneur and Quality Assurance issues  to be discussed by local participants including Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute and other UniKL campuses, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat.

Also present at the opening ceremony were Deputy Director General of Education, MARA, Y. Bhg. Tuan Haji Ibrahim Ahmad. Other distinguished guests including Y. Bhg. Dato’ Tajul Urus Mat Zain, Chairman of UniKL BMI, UniKL Deputy President (Academic & Technology) Prof. Dr. Mohamad Azemi Mohd Nor, Prof. Dr. Badri Abu Bakar, Dean UniKL BMI, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Amir Abas, NCET 2010 Chairman and representatives from collaborative partners of UniKL BMI.
