UniKL RCMP Exchanging Medical Expertise with Vinayaka Missions University, India |

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) has widened its medical resources and expertise by securing an academic collaboration with Vinayaka Missions University (VMU), India, in a Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony held on October 20, 2010 at UniKL RCMP, Ipoh, Perak.
“There is a need for the two universities to look beyond this MoA towards future cooperation in the field of medical research in specialised areas of medicine and related medical sciences for the benefit of the people of these two regions”, said Y.B. Datuk Dr. Adham Baba, Chairman of UniKL in his welcoming speech.
The MoA formalise an academic venture between UniKL RCMP and VMU in Clinical Training for UniKL RCMP medical students at VMU Teaching Hospital located in Salem, India. According to this agreement, UniKL RCMP medical students will spend two-and-half years for their Clinical Training at VMU Teaching Hospital, Salem where VMU will facilitate and provide all learning facilities and infrastructure there. This programme is fully supervised by UniKL.

The MoA was inked by UniKL Chairman, Y.B. Datuk Dr. Adham Baba and Pro Chancellor of VMU, Y. Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Sharavanan Shanmuga Sundaram, and witnessed by UniKL Deputy President (Management and Services), Y. Bhg. Tuan Haji Mohamed Hisham Abdul Ghani and VMU Consultant, Y. Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Ishak Thambi Kechik. Also present, Y. Bhg. Datuk (Dr.) Zamani Md Noor, Chairman of PCM Sdn. Bhd. as ceremonial witness.
