After eight days of hard work competing to gain the highest revenue, the Inter Varsity Malaysia Business Challenge 2010 or Pertandingan Perniagaan Malaysia Peringkat IPT 2010 organised by UniKL and its Koperasi Siswa (M) Berhad had came to a closing on December 21, 2010. Y.B. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Higher Education represented by Y. Bhg. Tuan Haji Ab. Rahim Md. Noor, Chief Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education graced the closing and prize giving ceremony of the competition  held at Kuala Lumpur International Hotel.

The competition which was held from December 13, 2010 had gathered a total 490 participants from 22 Higher Learning Institutions (IPTA/IPTS) and tested students’ entrepreneurial skills particularly in the management of product sales. During this competition, students were challenged to market Small Medium Enterprise (SME) products where they were required to apply sales strategy to sell the products. The winner was selected based on the highest sales revenue obtained by each group.

With the theme ‘Real Business Challenge’, the competition was organised to inculcate entrepreneurial culture among university students as well as to expose them to the challenges in the real business insight. Additionally, it also seeks to recognise entrepreneurship as a career choice of students.

The competition received support and sponsorship from the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and Council of Entrepreneurial Universities Malaysia (MAKMUM) and several other private organisations.
