UniKL Donates Reading Materials to Rural School |

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Library and Resource Centre had successfully organised a handover ceremony for the donation of reading materials to Sekolah Kebangsaan Kuala Pomson, Hulu Langat, Selangor on January 22, 2011. This Corporate Social Responsibility programme was held as a response to the call of Ministry of Rural and Regional Development to create a ‘knowledgeable and skilled human capital’ for the growth of the nation. UniKL was represented by General Manager, Corporate Communication Division, Tuan Haji Rosly Ahmad for the handover ceremony and Mrs. Jamaliah Ahmad Rus, Headmaster of the school were present to receive the contribution.

Sekolah Kebangsaan Kuala Pomson which accommodates 135 students and 18 teachers, is a rural school where many of its students are from the indigenous community settling in the area of Hulu Langat. UniKL donated a total of 531 reading materials which ranged from children’s books and other light reading materials for the school. These books were mostly donated by UniKL staff and students through the Book Donation Campaign launched by UniKL Library and Resource Centre from July till December 2010. Also present during the handover ceremony was, Puan Pazilah Hamzah, Senior Manager of UniKL's Library and Resource Centre.
