KLGreenHAT 2011 Promotes Ethical Hacking

Malaysian Institute of Information Technology, Universiti Kuala Lumpur City Campus has successfully launched a Hacking Competition called KLGreenHAT 2011 on February 9 2011 at UniKL City Campus. The competition was officiated by MIIT Dean, Prof. Dr. Roslan Ismail in the presence of distinguished guest, CEO of CyberSecurity, Lt. Col. Husin Jazri.

KLGreenHAT 2011 was an idea formed by MIIT’s Computer System Security Club (CSSC) in an effort to promote the image of ethical hacker as well as to create a network of cyber-savvy community with positive attitude and sensitive to issues of cyber security. The competition also aims to tap on a new generation of young talents in the field of cyber security.

With the theme "It's More Than A Game, It's Your Life", the competition was well received with participations from various institutions of higher learning, such as UTM, UiTM. Participants will be tested in their ability to coordinate and conduct a comprehensive examination of the computer network (including internet and computer applications), the extent of exposed data and provide recommendations to remedy these weaknesses.

The competition which was held for two days filled with various activities such as seminars and talks on cyber security and exhibition booths.
