MIIT, UniKL ‘Hackers’ 1st Runner-up in KLGreenHAT 2011 Challenge |

The closing ceremony of hacking competition, KLGreenHAT 2011 organised by MIIT’s Computer System Security Club (CSSC) and CyberSecurity Malaysia held on February 10, 2011 has crowned the participants from MARA Polytechnic and GiatMARA, Batu Pahat as ‘ethical hackers’ as they emerged Champion in the competition. The host campus, MIIT, UniKL came second as 1st Runner-up while Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) finished as 2nd Runner-up denying all other seven participating groups.
The two days competition has gathered computer ‘hackers’ from various IPTA and IPTS in Malaysia to compete for the grand prize of Certificate of Ethical Hacker (CEH) training and cash prize of RM5399 per pax by EC Council. Besides the GreenHAT challenge, various other IT based competition were also held, namely Cyber Treasure Hunt and CyberSafe Self-Defense Challenge Cup.
MIIT, UniKL Dean, Prof. Dr. Roslan Ismail graced the prize giving and closing ceremony together with distinguished guest from CyberSecurity, Mr. Ahmad Idzham Khairuddin, Head, Outreach Department CyberSecurity Malaysia.
