Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC), UniKL’s branch campus located in Pasir Gudang, Johor has successfully organised its Open Day 2011 on April 6 and 7, 2011. This year, UniKL MITEC Open Day was held for the first time at its new permanent campus at Bandar Seri Alam, Johor Bahru.
Y. Bhg. Tuan Haji Ibrahim Ahmad, Director General, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) officiated UniKL MITEC Open Day 2011 in the presence of Y.B. Datuk Dr. Adham Baba, UniKL Chairman, Y. Bhg. Tuan Haji Ahmad Sokirin, Director of MARA Johor, UniKL President/CEO, Y. Bhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri and UniKL MITEC Dean, Y. Bhg. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khairanum Subari.

UniKL MITEC Open Day is an annual event organised to provide exposure and publicity to the public about the programmes offered by UniKL MITEC particularly Industrial Logistics and Quality Engineering programmes and to highlight its importance in related industries. Besides this, the Open Day also aimed to introduce and informed the public on the equipped facilities of the new campus in Bandar Seri Alam.
In conjunction with the Open Day, a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between UniKL, LCS Consultancy & Management Services and Infinity Logistics and Transport Sdn. Bhd. was held to strengthen the cooperation between UniKL and the logistics industry in Malaysia.

Y. Bhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri, UniKL President/CEO inked the Memorandum of Understanding with Y. Bhg. Mr. Mohd Jainal Ismail, Founder, LCS Consultancy & Management Services, and Y. Bhg. Mr. Chan Kong Yew, Managing Director, Infinity Logistics and Transport Sdn. Bhd. witnessed by Y. Bhg. Tuan Haji Ibrahim Ahmad, Director General, MARA and Y.B. Datuk Dr. Adham Baba, UniKL Chairman.

During the opening ceremony, UniKL also took the opportunity to launch a humanitarian fund for disaster victims in Japan. Throughout the two days event, a host of activities were organised namely a blood donation campaign, exhibition by the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), Fire and Rescue exhibition as well as coloring contests.
