In conjunction with MIIT Open Day 2011, the Software Engineering section of Malaysian Institute of Information Technology, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (MIIT, UniKL) in collaboration with Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB), successfully organized an Award Certification Ceremony for nine of its Bachelor of Information Technology ( Hons ) in Software Engineering ( BSE ) students who managed to obtain the Certified Tester - Foundation Level (nCTF ) certifications from MSTB.

Malaysian Software Testing Board (MST ) is a national body representing the industry interests in promoting Software Quality Assurance (SQA) and software testing as core competencies in the development of IT-dependent quality products and services.

Nine successful students were awarded with the professional certifications presented by Y. Bhg. Mr. Amiruddin Jaafar Sidek, Director of MSTB, witnessed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shahrulniza Musa, Deputy Dean (Academic) and Puan Suriana Ismail, Head, Software Engineering Section of MIIT, UniKL.

Prior to the Award Certification Ceremony, the students were also presented with a career talk entitled “Careers in Software Testing Industry” by Mr. Amiruddin himself.

During the talk, Mr. Amiruddin introduced the students to MSTB background and the overview of software testing. He also shared his experience as a software tester for the past 25 years. Among the highlights of the talk were the essential requirements to be a software tester and the importance of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board’s (ISTQB’s) certification.
