Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is one of the most multicultural and prominent engineering universities in Malaysia. Even, the university attracts a diverse group of students from many countries, cultures and backgrounds. This is the series of interviews with new International Students in the program, giving us a look at their different experiences, challenges and triumphs so far moving from their home countries to Universiti Kuala Lumpur.
Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Sarah Saud Fatmi from Pakistan, I’m 18 years old and I’m an international student from Pakistan. It’s my first year here.
Your Reasons for Choosing the UniKL-International School of Entrepreneurship
I love the lively atmosphere and diversity unique to Universiti Kuala Lumpur specifically the International School of Entrepreneurship (UniKL-ISE). The students at this school come from many different backgrounds and possess individual viewpoints and opinions even though they are studying the same subjects. We can learn not only from our lecturers, but also from our classmates. In addition, the ISE provides a wide variety of study fields. The courses taught here like Economics & Industry, Commerce, Trade & Finance, Management, and Accounting are high quality and meet the international standards. This allows us to acquire knowledge in many related areas and with it a broader perspective and increased competitiveness.
What you like most about Universiti Kuala Lumpur and the ISE
I have the highest opinion of the ISE support system and the way it respects each student’s wishes and decisions to the fullest extent possible. Students are encouraged to make decisions for themselves and act from a strong sense of duty. Thanks to this support system. I think this kind of system would benefit us in improving our competitiveness.
Career aspirations after graduating
After graduating from university, I intend to enroll in the MBA program of UniKL-ISE to learn management skills and international strategies. In the future I want to join a transnational corporation and work as an international manager.
“I knew UniKL is a great university as it aims to uphold the independence of learning and to promote the practical utilization of knowledge and good citizenship”, (Sarah Saud Fatmi, 19 years old, Pakistan)
