Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) in collaboration with Saudi’s TVTC

GLOBALISATION has opened the doors of opportunities for people to seek greener pastures across borders. Businesses on the other hand are rising to the occasion by casting their net wider for global challenge and recognition. Added with the boom of the information superhighway, nothing is impossible. As a higher learning institution that was formed to democratise education, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) spearheads Engineering Technology education in Malaysia.

Nine years down the road, UniKL has not only gained a strong foothold locally but also abroad. The university’s internationalisation efforts have spurred significant collaborations worldwide including in Saudi Arabia when the university explored a new frontier by establishing collaboration with the Technical Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in Saudi Arabia. This collaboration would help to broaden TVTC academic horizon with UniKL as well as to further strengthen the university’s presence in foreign shores.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Universiti Kuala Lumpur Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri feels that the growing importance of technical and vocational fields has prompted TVTC to initiate the collaboration.

“UniKL was chosen as a partner due to its reputation. Also we have the expertise to develop programmes that meet their needs. TVTC, in its drive to effectively contribute towards the human capital development of Saudi Arabia sees this collaboration as the cornerstone in achieving its ambition”, he said

Through this collaboration, it will pave the way for TVTC students to further their study at UniKL. Furthermore, this collaboration also would enable both institutions to share their vast experience in education industry in order to increase the R&D culture between them.
