UniKL IPROM hopes to win the Malaysia Design Competition 2011 through its six finalists. Hopes for these finalists are as varied as their designs are, but all share a passion to win and a committed ambition to achieve their goals. However, it won’t be long before they’re making headlines again.
For the Malaysia Design Competition 2011, the theme given by the Majlis Rekabentuk Malaysia (MRM) is Universal Design for Disabled: Household Product.
According to MRM official website, the main purpose of the new theme is to find inventions or innovations that can be used by the disabled without any additional equipment for them. The committee also challenges the young inventors to decant their ideas to produce household products that can reduce the cost and dangers for the disabled to use it and at the same could bring positive impact on society at-large. MRM believes that encouraging more socially responsible design decisions among the young designers through competitions will only positively affect the profession, people and planet.
