The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) formerly known as the Centre for Technical Education and Vocational Training was established on August 1, 2004. The main aim of the centre is to provide continuous professional development towards the enhancement of teaching and learning at the university. Focus will be given to providing training emphasizing the competency based “hands-on” approach and teaching methods or tools that can encourage student centred learning approach. The centre has identified main areas which will be the focus for academic staff development. These are:
- Teaching and learning methodology (pedagogy based programmes/workshops)
- Technology in teaching and learning (IT based programmes/workshops)
