A research pact was formed between Universiti Kuala Lumpur Institute of Medical Science Technology (UniKL MESTECH) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (Unisza) on the 16^th of February 2017 specifically to focus in the area of environmental healthcare.

A roundtable discussion was held between UniKL MESTECH representatives, Dr. Reezal Ishak (Dean), Mr. Zakaria Hamid (Deputy Dean IIIP), Mr. Arvind Bala Krishnan (Head of Environmental Healthcare Section), Dr. Izuddin Fahmy Abu (Research & Innovation) and Dr. Ahmad Shakir Mohd Saudi with representatives from Unisza’s East Cost Environmental Research Institute (ESERI) Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hafizan Juahir and ESERI’s scientific officer Mr. Syahril Hirman Azmee to drive both institutes towards possible research collaborations and other future ventures related to environmental health issues.

In particular, UniKL MESTECH have agreed to become the main co-organiser for a conference to be held on the 3^rd to 5^th of October 2017 in Merang Setiu, Terengganu. With the theme Environment, Sports and Recreation, the conference stylised as ICESR 2017, aims to congregate expertise from related disciplines to share their research findings and provide a platform to discuss rising problems concerned with the country’s environmental status. It is hoped that this partnership would continue to foster and result in more research findings for both institutes which ultimately will benefit the entire nation.
