Universiti Kuala Lumpur marked another milestone in expanding its academic horizons through partnership with Sjakhyakirti University Indonesia. Both universities sealed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 22, 2012 in a ceremony held at UniKL City Campus. Through this collaboration, UniKL and Sjakhyakirti University will undertake a joint effort in the development and conduct of academic and professional training programmes as well as exchange of students and academicians for value-added study, learning and research. The cooperation also seeks to explore potential collaboration activities that benefit both countries in the areas of education, R&D, social and culture.
Sjakhyakirti University is the oldest university and a pioneer of higher education in South Sumatera established in 1953. In line with the development of knowledge, Sjakhyakirti University extended its fields by opening Dentistry and Accounting Faculty as well as Agriculture and Administration faculties. All faculties are oriented to produce professional alumnae in Law, Economy, Business, Accounting, Social sciences, Farming and Dentistry with global insight.
UniKL Deputy President (Academic & Technology), Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohamad Azemi Mohd Noor, represented UniKL for the signing whilst Sjakhyakirti University was represented by its Rector, Prof. Dr. Zaidan Nawawi. The signing was witnessed by Dean of UniKL Business School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sulaiman Sajilan and Dr. Drs. Ardiyan Saptawan, Directure of Postgraduate Programme, Sjakhyakirti University, Palembang, Indonesia. Also present at the signing ceremony were Dean of UniKL Institute of Research and Postgraduate Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Azizan Mohd Noor, UniKL International Office Deputy Director, Puan Zunaini Abdul Kadir and Dr. Abdul Razak Abdul Hadi, Section Head, Professional Services & Internalisation, UniKL Business School.
