Certificates for UniKL Preparatory Programme Students

BANGI (27 July 2020): A total of 793 students who completed their UniKL Preparatory Programme studies received certificates in a special ceremony held today.

The Appreciation and Certificate Presentation Ceremony for UniKL Preparatory Programme was held at the UniKL Malaysia France Institute Perdana Hall in Bangi. Fifty-four UniKL MFI students received certificates.

It was also streamed live to four other UniKL campuses namely UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (Pre-Russia Foundation Programme – 31 students); UniKL Malaysian Spain Institute (Pre-Spain Foundation – 13 students); UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak (Foundation in Medical Science – 65 students) and UniKL Business School (Foundation in Business – 75 students).

Students pursuing Foundation in Science (140 students) and Foundation in Science & Technology (135 students) from Kolej MARA Kuala Nerang) and Foundation in Science (280 students) from Kolej MARA Kulim in Kedah, also received certificates.

Adam Azmi, (Engineering), who is a MARA scholar, Tung Ker Chee (Engineering) and Chong Jun Jey (Political Science and Business Management) – both scholars of Public Services Department – received the Best Student Awards in their respective fields.

The certificates were presented by Dr Angeline Blanc-Serre, Attaché for University and Scientific Cooperation, Embassy of France in Malaysia. She is also the French Director, Malaysia France University Centre.

Also in attendance are UniKL President and Chief Executive Officer Prof Dato’ Dr Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, UniKL Deputy Presidents Prof Dr Shahrulniza Musa (Academic & Technology), Dato’ Dr Azanam Shah Hashim (International, Industrial & Institutional Partnership), Prof Dato’ Dr Khairanum Subari (Student Development & Campus Lifestyle), Datuk Salmah Hayati Ghazali (University Development & Sustainability), Dato’ Amir Azhar Ibrahim (Chief Marketing & Planning Officer), Prof Ts. Dr Jamel Othman (Dean of UniKL MFI), Madam Nor Zunaini Abd Kadir (Director, Centre for Preparatory Studies), representatives from Majis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and the Public Services Department (PSD) and parents.

The Director of Kolej MARA Kulim, Puan Hajjah Ani Mardiah Azmin, and Director of Kolej MARA Kuala Nerang Tuan Hj Mohd Nizam Jamaludin also joined in the event via Microsoft Teams.

“My heartiest congratulations to all 793 students on their achievement and my sincere gratitude to UniKL MFI for being the host and main venue for the presentation,” said Prof Dato’ Dr Mazliham, who is also the Malaysian Director for Malaysia-France University Centre.

“Since 2004 until 2020, UniKL Preparatory Programmes were offered at Kolej MARA Kulim, and from 2010 to 2020 at Kolej MARA Kuala Nerang with a total of 7,443 students have completed their studies.”

Foundation programmes, he added, are also offered at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (Foundation in computer technology), UniKL Malaysia Italy Design Institute (Foundation in Science & Technology) and UniKL Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (Foundation in Science).

Along with UnIKL Preparatory Programmes, which are feeders to UniKL Bachelor’s programme, UnIKL is also offering preparatory programmes to prepare students for admission into foreign universities.

“This is the first time that the Appreciation and Certificates presentation ceremony for UniKL Preparatory Programmes is organised centrally involving all recipients from Kolej MARA Kulim, Kolej MARA Kuala Nerang, UniKL UBIS, UniKL RCMP, UniKL MFI, UniKL MSI and UniKL MIAT).

“I hope this event is memorable to all, and for those who will be joining UniKL in the September Intake, a warm welcome. I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of you to continue your journey with UniKL in embracing the knowledge and competency in your areas of interest, said Prof Dato’ Dr Mazliham.

He commended the students for making the right decision of joining UniKL for the UniKL Preparatory Programme as the entrepreneurial university is committed to providing the best academic and university experience, as well as ensuring success for our graduates.
