Dr Eida Nadirah: The Outlook is Positive

FIVE months into her new role as Director of Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admission Division, Ts Dr Eida Nadirah Roslin is taking the challenges in her stride in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic that has affected the economy and education institutions in the country.

A senior lecturer in the Automotive Engineering Section at UniKL Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) in Bangi, Dr Eida Nadirah disclosed that enrolment of students for the July/September Intake is ongoing with positive signs.

“In the past, UniKL held roadshows in our marketing plan in the recruitment and admission of students, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic we adopted digital marketing strategy,” said Dr Eida Nadirah.

She added that the response has been overwhelming with 15,030 (as per 23rd June 2020) applications received for foundation, diploma and bachelor programmes offered in 12 UniKL campuses.

“For the foundation programme UniKL received 3,153 applications, although we have set a target of 300. For diploma we received 10,773 applications (target 1,900) while for bachelor programme we received 1,104 applications (target 345).

“Our target is 2,580 students in total for the July Intake, and we will only know the actual number when registration close in the first week of July. Nevertheless, the outlook is positive,” she added.

For the record, Ts Dr Eida Nadirah obtained her PhD in Manufacturing System from the University of Malaya, Masters of Science in Manufacturing System Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing from International Islamic University Malaysia.

Her research interests include manufacturing system, operation management and Lean.
