E-Sports Uni-League 2020: UniKL finish third

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) finished third in the PUBG Mobile category at the grand finals of the E-Sports Uni-League 2020 championships.

The team led by players from UniKL British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) garnered 40 placement points and 46 kill points for a total of 86 points – two behind Management Science University (MSU) and four adrift eventual champions Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP).

UMP also received a winning purse of RM3,000, MSU pocketed RM2,000 and Universiti Kuala Lumpur RM1,000 respectively. The Grand Finals was held on Nov 21-22 at the Ancient Galaxy E-Sports Hub, Kota Syah Bandar, Melaka.

Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), with 21 cumulative points, emerged overall champions in the Championship that was organised by the Ministry of Higher Education in cooperation with the Malaysian Universities Sports Council (MASUM).

UTeM won RM3,000 for its remarkable effort while Universiti Malaysia Pahang came in overall second on 15 points (RM2,000) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman third on 11 points and a RM1,000 purse.

A total of 67 institutions of higher learning nationwide competed in seven categories in the 2020 e-Sport Uni League Championship, namely Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, Arena of Valor, PES 2020, FIFA 2020 and PUBG Mobile.
