No more flocking to jobs, create them instead – MARA Chairman urges

In line with Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL)’s mission to produce enterprising global technopreneurs, students have been urged to start creating jobs rather than actively seeking one after graduating.

While landing a job is passable, however, it is high time for the graduates especially the students at UniKL to boost their entrepreneurship skills, said the Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Datuk Seri Panglima Hajah Azizah Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Dun.

“Looking at the facilities and teaching methods offer at UniKL, I think that students have to capitalise on all this and ignite themselves to think out of the box,” said her in a speech during an official visit to UniKL Malaysian Institute of Chemical & Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET), yesterday (15 June 2022).

Prior to that, she undertook a 30-minute tour of the campus facilities and training centres including the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Pre GMP labs.

UniKL MICET is a pioneer institution of higher learning in the country that provides hands-on chemical-based technology education located in Alor Gajah, Melaka.

The courses at UniKL MICET place a high emphasis on the interaction between scientific and technological training and industrial experience, with the contents of its courses regularly reviewed in accordance with the changing needs, especially of the food industry.

“Alhamdulillah, UniKL MICET is heavily involved in research activities and food manufacturing processes, whereby all these lead to entrepreneurial values. This in turn will make MARA’s desire and mission in empowering the Bumiputeras a success,” Datuk Seri Panglima Hajah Azizah added.

During the official visit, she also launched UniSeri – a range of facial skin care products, formulated by UniKL MICET, that uses Bunga Telang as one of the basic ingredients. UniSeri products have been on the market since February 2021.
