MARA Corporation’s Iftar unites orphans, senior citizens, and staff

MARA Corporation Group’s Iftar event brought joy to 75 orphans from Pusat Jagaan Kasih Ilahi and 45 underprivileged senior citizens from Pusat Jagaan Mahmudah, demonstrating the group’s continued commitment to its corporate social responsibility.

The event, which took place on April 14th 2023, not only provided an opportunity for the beneficiaries to enjoy a heartwarming feast, but it also enabled the group’s staff to strengthen their ties with the community and subsidiaries.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of MARA Corporation, Dato’ Julainie Mohd Salleh said, the company has been organising the Iftar event annually since its establishment in 2016.

He emphasized that the objective of the event is to bring everyone together like one big ‘family’.

“It is a chance for me to meet them, know them better, and create the spirit of Hari Raya by mingling around with orphans and senior citizens,” he noted.

As part of the event, each orphan received RM50 as a “Hari Raya” donation, while RM100 was donated to each senior citizen.

It is worth noting that Universiti Kuala Lumpur, a subsidiary of MARA Corporation, made a significant contribution towards these donations.

It is part of the company’s social responsibility and community programme, aimed at alleviating the burden of the underprivileged.
