Nervous, Excited! And Ice-breaking!

A hive of activity returns to Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s 12 campuses after the Movement Control Order following the registration of students for the July Intake foundation programmes today.

At UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology located in the 31-storey high Chancellery, students were accompanied by parents on Registration Day.

Wan Amir Zarib (18), Nur Ameera Quistina (18), Farah Anis Sabrina (18), Ammar Hafiq (18) and Dhania Sofiya Nizam, who registered for the Pre-Korea Foundation programme, said they are excited but nervous at the same time as this is a new experience after leaving high school.

Nur Ameera and Farah Anis, who studied at SMK Perempuan Sri Aman in Petaling Jaya, said they received offers from Unit Pengambilan Universiti (UPU) to study in public universities but after weighing their options opted for UniKL.

“I received an offer by UPU to study Human Science but I turned it down as I am more interested in engineering,” said Nur Ameera who obtained 9As in the Sijil Pelajaraan Malaysia examination. “Studying in UniKL is a new chapter in my life and I am looking forward to making new friends here.”

Wan Amir, who studied at Kolej Pintar in Bangi and obtained 9As in the SPM examination, aspires to be a Data Scientist. “My journey towards realizing my dream begins here today. I am excited to join UniKL,” he said.

An ‘ice-breaking’ session was also held in every campus on Day 2 with an introduction and speech by the President and Chief Executive Officer of UniKL Prof Dato’ Dr Mazliham Mohd Su’ud at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation (UniKL MIAT) followed by welcoming speech by the Dean of MIAT Prof Dato’ TS. IR. ER. Dr Mohamad Dali Esa.

Registration for foundation programmes in all UniKL campuses is still open.
