UniKL welcomes two new deputy presidents

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) yesterday announced the appointment of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kushsairy Abdul Kadir and Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin as its new Deputy President, effective January 1st 2023. 

In the new role, Dr. Kushsairy will hold responsibility for Academic & Technology, while Dr. Azman will serve as Deputy President for International, Industrial & Institutional Partnership.

For the record, Dr. Kushsairy brings with him more than 20 years as an academician with the recent position as Dean of UniKL British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI).

Furthermore, he has extensive experience in leading the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS) as the Dean and also served as the Director of the Centre For Research & Innovation (CoRI).

“Thank you for giving me this opportunity and I will cherish this challenge to guide the academic and technology sections to new heights.

“This opportunity is not for me to become a boss, but to act as a facilitator in order to achieve our common vision,” he said. 

Dr. Azman, meanwhile, started his early career in 1997 as a manufacturing engineer at an automotive company before venturing into academia in 2010. 

With 13 years of industry experience and almost 12 years as an academician, he will assist the President/Chief Executive Officer to tap new opportunities and achieve new milestones on the back of Malaysia’s thriving economy. 

“I am honoured to take on this new role, but I know the significant responsibility it carries.

“It is my hope to work with everyone in the IIIP section in streamlining our efforts, making UniKL one of Malaysia’s leading universities,” said him, who previously served as the Dean of UniKL Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI).

The appointments were handed over by two former Covering Deputy Presidents, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Zulhafiz Tajudin and Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Khairil Rahmat, while witnessed by UniKL President/Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr. Roziah Omar.
