Mixed reaction at UniKL’s first day of July 2022 Intake registration

As early as 8 am yesterday, new students and their parents streamed into 11 Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) campuses for the university’s first day of July 2022 Intake registration.

Zooming in at UniKL’s Kuala Lumpur-based institute, UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT), the first registration day elicited mixed reactions from the mass, with most of the new students appearing excited.

Abdul Razak Abdul Razak, 49, a father to a Diploma in Multimedia student, Muhammad Alif Fikri Abdul Razak, 18, shared his excitement about his son’s successful enrolment with UniKL.

“I am grateful that my son was able to register for the Diploma in Multimedia today. It so happens that my eldest son is studying here at the moment.

“After the recent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results, I told him that, if possible, to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Considering UniKL is under Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), it offers numerous privileges.

“The best I can see, a loan student tuition fees will be able to be discounted. So why not take advantage of these benefits?” he told.

The July Intake 2022 marked the first occasion a huge crowd herded to the UniKL campuses, after two years of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

Following the registration, new students will participate in the Welcoming & Orientation Week (WOW) starting 18 to 21 July 2022.

In addition to fun activities, WOW offers new students information regarding their next chapter in life through sharing sessions.
