Students Receive Unlimited Broadband Data Package

A total of 8,541 Universiti Kuala Lumpur students will receive free unlimited broadband data package sim cards within the next three days under the UniKL Beyond-C Business Challenge Plan.

The distribution of sim cards began on July 6 to eligible students in all 12 UniKL campuses who are staying at home and pursuing online classes. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, only students pursuing foundation, diploma, bachelor and masters by coursework for the July/September intakes are permitted to enter their respective campus to attend classes.

Mohd Shafik Masri, an executive with UniKL Chancellery Campus Lifestyle Division, said the distribution process started on July 6 and ends on July 10.

He added that the unlimited broadband data package is to ensure students pursuing online classes continuing doing so from the comfort of their homes.

“In Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang, we have distributed 800 sim cards to students in the last two days. The collection points are at all MARA district offices in their respective states. However, for students who are staying far away and unable to travel to the collection points we visit them at their homes and distribute the sim cards,” said Shafik.

Students residing in the Klang Valley can collect their sim cards at UniKL campuses namely UniKL Business School, UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology, UniKL Institute of Medical Science Technology, UniKL British Malaysian Institute, UniKL Malaysia France institute, UniKL Malaysia Italy Design Institute, UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology and at MARA district offices in Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor.
