“It will certainly benefit both organizations despite the challenges by the pandemic COVID-19. We have come a long way in realising this partnership.”

BIM was represented at the signing ceremony by its president, Ar. Abu Zarim Abu Bakar. He was accompanied by Dr. Wan Rashidah W.A. Kadir, Honorary Secretary of BIM.

“My appreciation also goes to the whole team of UniKL and BIM for their dedication and contribution in finalising these collaboration notes and to ensure the smooth running of the signing ceremony,” he added.

The NoC, narrated Prof. Dr. Shahrulniza, marks a significant event for both UniKL and BIM, sealing cooperation in the following areas: (a) To hold a PROFLEX event; (b) to support UniKL students in internship programmes at BIM corporate organization; (c) to hold webinar programmes between BIM and UniKL focusing on expertise fields, (d) to conduct forum or industrial talk by BIM to UniKL.

He also shared the achievements of Universiti Kuala Lumpur with the BIM team.

“I am pleased to inform you that UniKL won the Gold Award for Education and Learning category in the 2020 Putra Brand Awards. This recognition indicates that UniKL is positioned among the best and most preferred brand among Malaysians,” he said.

“UniKL also marked a new chapter when it enlisted for the first time in the Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies University Ranking 2021. UniKL is ranked 400-500 position, a remarkable achievement since its evolution in 2002.”

“In terms of graduate employability, nine campuses of UniKL are listed among the Top 20 IPTS for 2019 with UniKL Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI) achieving 100% graduate employability,” he added.

At the international arena, UniKL is ranked among the top best 300 universities in the Quacquarelli-Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings 2021 announced on 25 November 2020.

Earlier in October 2020, UniKL marked another milestone in Times Higher Education (THE) World Subject Rankings as we are ranked in its specialised subject areas, namely, 501–600 in Business and Economics, 801+ in Computer Science and 801–1000 in Engineering.

“These achievements were made possible through our aspiration known as WE4Asia, for UniKL to be among the best universities in the Asian region. These achievements were also contributed by the strong collaboration of UniKL with various partners locally and globally. With BIM being our latest collaborative partner today, I hope BIM will render us your support that will certainly contribute to more success stories of the university and BIM as well,” added Prof Dr. Shahrulniza.

He noted that as the APEX of MARA education system and a technical university that champions Higher Technical Vocational Education and Training (HTVET) in Malaysia, these achievements demonstrate UniKL’s growing ability to compete among Asia’s and the world’s leading universities.

“We will certainly continue to strive harder and deliver the best of education to the global community and to be among the best in the world, Insha’Allah.

“UniKL is excited to embark on projects that will certainly benefit both parties. We look forward to expanding our scope of partnership with BIM and we shall explore many more beneficial projects together. This partnership with BIM is indeed an honour to UniKL, and I trust it will open more doors to more future opportunities,” he stressed.

“Through our cooperative efforts and continuous commitment, I am confident that we will be able to achieve bigger goals and deliver bigger outcomes than what was initially outlined in the Collaboration Note. I hope that this relationship between UniKL and BIM will remain strong and fruitful. And with that note, I hereby officially welcome BIM to the big family of UniKL,” he said in his closing speech.
