  • Self-awareness – identifying the tasks they enjoy, their interests, preferred work environments, interpersonal skills, motivations, decision-making tendencies and characteristics related to leadership, thus helping them build their competencies as they progress at the university.
  • Targeted development can be undertaken by the university to help the students develop their competencies for their future careers.

Student Experience recognises the efforts made by students, and at the same time inspires them to value the contribution of others towards the success of their own lives.

Student Representation at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL)

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is committed to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and student-centered campus environment through structured and representative student bodies that amplify the voices of its diverse community.

At the university level, student representation is led by the UniKL Student Representative Council (USRC), a recognised body that represents both undergraduate and postgraduate students across all UniKL campuses. The USRC serves as the primary platform for student engagement, advocating for student welfare, academic interests, and holistic development, while maintaining close collaboration with university management.

Complementing this structure at the institutional level are the Student Representative Committees (SRCs) established within each UniKL campus. These committees ensure that student concerns and aspirations are addressed at the grassroots level, enabling more direct and responsive engagement within specific faculties and institutes.

In recognition of UniKL’s diverse international community, the UniKL International Student Association (UKISA) plays a vital role in representing the interests of international students. UKISA actively promotes cultural integration, provides peer support, and works alongside the USRC and SRCs to ensure that international student perspectives are included in university-wide initiatives.

All student representative bodies at UniKL are formed through a democratic election process, allowing students to vote for their leaders. This ensures transparency, accountability, and active student participation in governance.

Through these interconnected bodies, UniKL empowers its students to take on leadership roles, contribute meaningfully to university life, and actively shape a supportive and inclusive academic environment.
