Bachelor In Tourism Planning and Development (Hons)

Sarjana Muda Perancangan Dan Pembangunan Pelancongan (Kepujian)

Tourism Planning and Development programme is to produce graduates capable of planning and handling tourism development projects in both private and government sectors. The objectives of the programme are:

  1. To produce graduates who are knowledgeable, competent and innovative in contributing towards the field of tourism management and development.
  2. To produce graduates who have effective leadership qualities to support their roles in management and development of tourism activities.
  3. To produce graduates who are committed to the importance of lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
  4. To produce graduates who practice professionalism with ethics and social responsibility.
  5. To produce graduates who are capable of embarking on business and technopreneurial activities.


Programme Aims

Upon completion of this course students should be able to:

  1. Apply in-depth knowledge and skills in the area of specialisation.
  2. Communicate ideas and information effectively.
  3. Seek and analyse information for decision making
  4. Display leadership and entrepreneurship qualities ethically
  5. Demonstrate creativity and innovativeness in operational issues
  6. Demonstrate managerial attributes, teamwork, interpersonal, and social skills
  7. Apply professionalism in accordance with ethical and legal practices
  8. Nurture intellectual and professional growth through lifelong learning activities

Local Students

  • Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia, STPM  with a minmum CGPA of 2.00 in at least  2 subjects; Or
  • A recognised Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; Or
  • A recognised matriculation / foundation qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; Or
  • Pass in International
  • Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of 24 points; Or
  • Any other equivalent qualification


International students
All international students must complete at least 12 years of education and obtain certificate in Higher Secondary School equivalent to ‘A’ Level for degree programme. UniKL welcomes applications from various countries subject to the qualification that are equivalent to Malaysian qualifications. The entry requirement guidelines for those countries similar to Malaysian students’ entry qualification are as published in the website.
