Program Learning Outcomes

Overview

We are accepting applications now for our NEW 3 years – academic programme, Bachelor of Food Safety and Quality Technology with Honours commencing September 2021.

This degree programme is a collaboration between UniKL and prominent industry leaders, such as QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd and Gerbang Alaf Restaurants Sdn Bhd, as well as other companies like Muslim Heritage, Press Cold Sdn Bhd, Samza Food Industries and etc. It is a 2u1i programme in food-related technology in leveraging the needs of the Food industry human resource development.

This initiative is in line with the Malaysian Education Blueprint for 2015-2025 (Higher Education) where the 2u2i/2u1i academic programme supports the implementation of flexible education through industry participation in curriculum design and experiential learning at the workplace.

This programme offers a comprehensive Bachelor program that includes knowledge, practical, high industrial exposure & experience and embedded professional courses. By undergoing this programme, students will be able to prepare and adapt better into the real working environment after graduation. This will meet the industry’s expectations and needs in recruiting a competent employee. The program will be in 3 years; 2 years in UniKL MICET and 1 year in a selected company.

    UniKL graduates who are knowledgeable, competent and innovative, which will contribute towards the requirement of human capital in food safety and quality.

Entry Requirements:
  • Pass Diploma MQF level 4 with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or equivalent OR
  • Pass Advanced Diploma MQF level 5 with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or equivalent OR
  • Pass STPM or equivalent with a minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two (2) subjects OR
  • Pass Matriculation/Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or equivalent OR
  • Pass STAM (Grade Jayyid) or equivalent OR
  • Pass A-Level with minimum Grade D in TWO (2) subjects OR
  • Pass in International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least 24 points OR
  • Pass Higher National Diploma (HND) UK (MQF Level 4) in related area and recognized by government of Malaysia and according to approval by UniKL Senate OR
  • APEL A as prescribed by MQA OR
  • Other recognised qualifications or equivalent.
Note 1:
Entry DVM/DKM & DLKM starting 21 April 2020
  • I. Pass Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/ Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)/ Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and the programme must get Full Accreditation (FA) by MQA or other Accreditation bodies that are recognized by government of Malaysia and according to approval by UniKL Senate. OR
  • II. Pass the DKM/DLKM/DVM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 AND have at least two (2) years of work experience in the related field. The programme must get Full Accreditation (FA) by MQA or other Accreditation bodies that are recognized by government of Malaysia and according to approval by UniKL Senate.
Note 2:
For International students
  • I. Minimum requirement IELTS 5.0 or Equivalent.
  • II. Qualification of 12 years of schooling with the following conditions:
    • – It is the highest school qualification in the country of origin.
    • – It can be used as entry qualification for bachelor’s degree programme in the country of origin.
  • III. Students who enrol with qualification from institutions that fully use English as the language of instruction or from English speaking countries are EXCLUDED from the requirements of competence in English language.
