Overview
Universiti Kuala Lumpur Kampus Cawangan Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL-MIMET) aims to support the University’s vision and mission of becoming the premier entrepreneurial technical university and to produce enterprising global technopreneurs by upgrading the skills of Malaysia’s workforce while generating skilled workers and technopreneurs through this programme.
The Bachelor in Maritime Operations (Honours) programme allows UniKL-MIMET, as a specialist institute for the maritime sector, to produce graduates ready to venture into the non-engineering areas of the maritime industry. Courses offered in this programme are grouped into five sub-areas: Maritime and Transport Operations, Business Management, Freight Logistics, Maritime Law and Insurance, and Marine Science and Technology. This structure ensures that the programme’s learning outcomes are successfully achieved.

Career Information
This programme that prepares students with relevant competencies and knowledge in the field of shipping business, maritime operations, and management.
During studies, students will be expose with industrialmanship activities through seminars, talks, exhibition and visit to related maritime companies/agencies.
Graduates will be able to acquire an opportunity for executive position/skill workers that meet the industry requirement such as in maritime transport company, ports, freight logistics, oil and gas companies, apart from assuming roles in the public sectors such as Royale Malaysian Customs, Marine Department, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agencies, Royale Malaysian Navy etc.
- A pass in STPM with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any TWO subjects*; OR
- A pass in STAM with at least Grade Jayyid*; OR
- Matriculation or Foundation with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
- A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
- An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
- A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval***; OR
- A Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval***;
- Note for (vi) & (vii): The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide necessary guidance specific to the discipline of the programme. OR
- Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.
Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.
Demonstrate an understanding of the possibilities, problems, and history of discourse and deliberation in democracy and will be prepared to use their knowledge to work for a just and more humane world.
