Program Learning Outcomes

Overview

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) is a 4-year (for fresh graduate) and 3-year (for post-diploma) undergraduate degree programme.

The objective of this programme is to provide higher degree to graduates with necessary theoretical and clinical knowledge and encompasses the research and development of new methods of physical rehabilitation. It is designed to prepare graduates to function as a competent physiotherapy practitioner with clinical reasoning skills and ethics in the treatment of patients.

This programme involves the study of sciences behind practices such as anatomy, physiology, exercise and movement, as well as medical courses more specific to the field.

Method of delivery of this programme includes lectures and tutorials, problem-based learning sessions, practical skills sessions and clinical attachments at government and private hospitals. Lectures are conducted face-to-face as well as via online delivery mode.

Entry Requirements Malaysian Students:
  1. Pass Matriculation/Pre-University/Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) programme or equivalent qualification with minimum GPA 2.33 in TWO of the following subjects:
    • Biology
    • Physics/Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    OR
  2. Recognised Diploma in minimum CGPA of 2.75 in related field
  3. Recognised Diploma with CGPA less than 2.75 in related field OR minimum of 3 years (36 months) working experience in the related field
  4. Obtained MUET Band 3 AND/OR IELTS (5.5)/TOEFL (550)
International Students:
  1. A-level programme or equivalent qualification with minimum Grade D in TWO of the following subjects:
    • Biology
    • Physics/Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    AND
  2. Minimum English language requirements are IELTS 5.0/CEFR B1 or equivalent TOEFL PBT (410-413) or TOEFL IBT (34) or CAE (160) (Cambridge English: Advance) /CEFR B2 or CPE (180) (Cambridge English: Proficiency) / CEFR C1 or PTE (36) or MUET (band 3)

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.

Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.
