Programme Overview

This programme is designed to provide a comprehensive, internationally recognised diploma programme in information technology that produces professionals with leadership skills who are knowledgeable and competent in information technology industries and technopreneurial activities.


Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)
  • PEO1: To produce graduates who are knowledgeable, competent, and innovative, which will contribute towards the human capital in information technology related industry.
  • PEO2: To produce graduates who have effective leadership and teamwork skills as well as verbal, non-verbal and interpersonal communication skills to support their role in the industry.
  • PEO3: To produce graduates who are committed to the importance of lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
  • PEO4: To produce graduates who practice professionalism with ethics and social responsibility.
  • PEO5: To produce graduates who are capable of embarking on business and technopreneurial activities.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO)

Majors in information technology will be able to:

  • PLO2: Apply skills and principles of lifelong learning in academic and career development.

  • PLO6: Obtain, analyse and document user requirements for real-world projects.
  • PLO7: Develop appropriate IT solutions in relevant areas.
  • PLO8: Design and manage computer networks or information system.
  • PLO9: Provide technical support, configure, deploy and maintain computer solutions.
  • PLO10: Interpret information and system models for an organisation’s functional areas.

Entry Requirements
  • Pass Certificate MQF Level 3 with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent; OR
  • Pass SPM or its equivalent with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject; OR
  • Pass a minimum of one (1) semester pre-diploma programme with SPM or its equivalent with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject; OR
  • Pass STPM or its equivalent with a minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any subject; OR
  • Pass STAM (Grade Maqbul) or its equivalent; OR
  • APEL A as prescribed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA); OR
  • Other recognised qualifications or equivalent.

Program Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.

Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.

Demonstrate an understanding of the possibilities, problems, and history of discourse and deliberation in democracy and will be prepared to use their knowledge to work for a just and more humane world.
