Diploma in Multimedia

Programme Overview

This programme is designed to prepare and equip students with the required technical knowledge and skills for employment in a wide range of industries which use multimedia applications. Graduates of this programme may pursue careers in manufacturing companies, production houses, television stations, advertising agencies, newspapers, publishing houses and other relevant multimedia-related industries.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)
  • PEO1: Knowledgeable, competent and innovative graduates who contribute towards fulfilling the human capital needs of the multimedia industries.
  • PEO2: Effective leaders with teamwork capabilities as well as strong verbal, non-verbal and interpersonal communication skills to support their roles in the multimedia industries.

Majors in animation and multimedia will be able to:

  • PLO1: Use broad-based knowledge and skills in specialised areas of animation and multimedia.

Entry Requirements

Local Students

  • Pass Certificate MQF Level 3 with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent; OR
  • Pass SPM or its equivalent with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject; OR
  • Pass a minimum of one (1) semester pre-diploma programme with SPM or its equivalent with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject; OR
  • Pass STPM or its equivalent with a minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any subject; OR
  • Pass STAM (Grade Maqbul) or its equivalent; OR
  • APEL A as prescribed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA); OR
  • Other recognised qualifications or equivalent.

Program Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.

Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.

Demonstrate an understanding of the possibilities, problems, and history of discourse and deliberation in democracy and will be prepared to use their knowledge to work for a just and more humane world.
