Program Learning Outcomes

Overview

The PhD (Maritime) programme would enable the students to venture into higher level research area and guide them to have higher level of thinking and understanding. This would surely increase the research and development capability. On the other hand, PhD (Maritime) graduates would have a better opportunity for career advancement in their current jobs or within the maritime sector for instance; shipping companies, shipbuilding and ship repair sectors, naval architecture and marine engineering, maritime defence industry, port operators, universities and research institutes and government maritime agencies.

Entry Requirements
i. A master’s degree in the field or related field as approved by the UniKL Senate; AND
ii. English requirement for international applicants is a minimum score of 5.0 (IELTS) or 500 (TOEFL PBT) or equivalent.

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.

Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.
