Program Learning Outcomes

Overview

This programme aims to produce students with highly skilled professionalism that possess commitment, integrity, teamwork, innovativeness and excellence in the field of electrical engineering with emphasis on the advancement of power system and renewable energies, supported by strong aptitude towards technopreneurship.

The various types of electrical engineering careers are tied together by a demand for detail-oriented individuals who apply mathematics and science to solve technical problems. The Master of Electrical Engineering programme equips graduates with advanced knowledge in electrical engineering, particularly in power system and high voltage engineering, to become holistic electrical engineers.

Furthermore, graduates will also have opportunities to advance as researchers in these fields as scientists or academicians, or to pursue further studies at the PhD level.

Entry Requirements

Local Students
  • Recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Engineering Technology or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
  • Note: When candidates with Bachelor’s of Science or Technology degrees or their equivalents (non-engineering or engineering technology) are admitted, prerequisite modules in Engineering and Engineering Technology must be offered to adequately prepare them for their advanced study. Degree holders with CGPA above 2.0 but less than 2.5 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.

Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.

Demonstrate an understanding of the possibilities, problems, and history of discourse and deliberation in democracy and will be prepared to use their knowledge to work for a just and more humane world.
