Overview

The programme aims to produce competent and compassionate researchers capable of producing quality research to meet the diverse health care needs of the community.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)
  • PEO 1: To produce competent researchers capable of delivering quality research in pharmacy and health sciences.
  • PEO 2: To foster intellectual curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning and contribute to advancement of the pharmacy and health sciences.

  • PEO 4: To inculcate a spirit of respect for diversity and to ensure humane, ethical and cost-effective health care delivery.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
  • PLO 1:
    Knowledge of Discipline Area – Demonstrate mastery of knowledge in pharmacy and demonstrate professional competency.

    Practical Skills – Apply practical skill in delivering professional pharmaceutical care and pharmaceutical research.

Career Information

Graduates will have excellent career opportunities as researchers, academicians, consultant pharmacist and project managers in any pharmaceutical industry, community pharmacy, institution of research and higher education, government and non-government agencies in medical and health sciences.

Entry Requirements
  1. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
  2. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR
  3. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment; AND
  4. English requirement for international applicants is a minimum score of 5.0 (IELTS) or 500 (TOEFL PBT) or equivalent.

Demonstrate an understanding of how communication shapes patterns of social interaction, the expression of cultural values and norms, political practices and relations of power, and our positions as local and global citizens.

Be able to use a variety of methodological tools to analyze interpersonal, intercultural, and rhetorical discourse that structures everyday interactions in both our public and private lives.

Demonstrate an understanding of the possibilities, problems, and history of discourse and deliberation in democracy and will be prepared to use their knowledge to work for a just and more humane world.
