Of the eight projects participated in the MTE, two projects contested under the Asian Youth Innovation Awards & Expo 2017, while the other six projects participated in the Invention and Innovation Awards.

A gold medal came from a project by a group of researchers from UniKL MITEC led by En. Azman Malik and En. Mohd Zul-Waqar Bin Mohd Tohid. The project entitled “THE CHARGISZI…. Now charging is made easy”, focus on transmission of power to power up electrical equipment wirelessly. Wireless power transfer was first found by Nicola in 1900 but the pattern stated, is not clear until it had resurfaced back last decade. The project is invented with the hope to contribute in making battery charging less hurdle for most electrical appliances and gadgets.

It was even more gratifying when a research work by two students from UniKL MIIT, Siti Sarah binti Shamsul Anuar and Norariffudin bin Abdul Rahman entitled – ‘Salt Hero: Learning Chemistry Made Fun’ awarded with a gold medal and named the project as the very best award under the youth category.

The 16th MTE was organized by the Malaysian Association of Research Scientists (MARS) and PROTEMP Exhibition Sdn. Bhd. with a line of over 1,000 products of research from within and outside Malaysia that have high commercial value.
