Industrialmanship is a structured Internship Programme that builds an Industrial – Academia Collaboration and Linkages.It is another approach in education which supports the WE4ASIA Aspiration

Objectives

  • To foster the engagement of students with the industry as early as in the first year of study.
  • To introduce UniKL students to the industrial culture and real working environment.
  • To increase the competitiveness and marketability of UniKL graduates, which reflects the quality graduates profiles for national needs.
  • To build effective UniKL partnership and collaboration with local or global companies.

Framework Details

Process Flow  

YEAR 1 | SEMESTER 1
  • INDUSTRIALMANSHIP BRIEFING(1 SESSION)
    Will be held during WOW program and will be conducted by IIIP Campus.During the program. there will be a detail briefing on Industrialmanship Process Flow.
  • PROFILING TEST(1 SESSION)
    Students will have to take a compulsory profiling test organized by campus.


YEAR 1 | SEMESTER 2
  • INDUSTRIAL TALK (INDUSTRY OUTLOOK)- (1 DAY)
    To enlighten students regarding industry sector of work and the working environment. Besides that, students will also be given information regarding work ethics.
    Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

    • Identify the corporate values and ethics.
    • Define their understanding of industrial / working scenario


YEAR 2 | SEMESTER 3
  • RELEVANT COURSES- (2 DAY)
    Campus will assign 2 relevant courses.
    Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

    • Discuss the current technology that are employed in industry.
    • Relate the relevant courses to the industry


YEAR 2 | SEMESTER 4
  • SAFETY AND HEALTH AWARENESS BRIEFING – (1 DAY)
    To prepare students for their upcoming industrial exposure Program and increase their awareness on the importance of safety and health management.
    Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

    • Describe the basic requirement of the safety and health in the Industry.
  • INDUSTRIAL EXPOSURE 1 – (2 WEEKS BETWEEN SEM 4 – 5)
    To exposure the students into the real environment in a company.
    Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

    • Understand the business attire
    • Understand the time management
    • Understand the organization chart
    • Understand the Industries Background or Nature of Business


YEAR 3 | SEMESTER 5
  • INDUSTRIAL VISIT – (1 DAY)
    To enlighten students regarding industry sector of work and the working environment.
    Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

    • Describe the basic process/workflow of the company or organization
  • INDUSTRIAL EXPOSURE 2 – (4 WEEKS BETWEEN SEM 5 – 6)
    Continuation of attachment at the same or different industries as IE 1 for a further and deeper understanding of organizational behavior to prepare the students for their internship.
    At the end, students will be able to:

    • State the services or products of the company
    • Describe the company’s main operations.
    • Describe the latest technology available at the industry
    • Identify issues and problems faced by the company and relate it to their Final Year Project.


YEAR 3 | SEMESTER 6
  • FINAL YEAR PROJECT 1 – (20 WEEKS)
    20 weeks of preparation for the Final Year Project 1 presentation
  • RESUME WRITING WORKSHOP – (1 DAY)
    To guide students on how to write a good resume and improve their resume writing skill to increase their employability.
  • INTERVIEW SKILLS AND GROOMING WORKSHOP – (1 DAY)
    To train and groom students on how to present themselves properly during the interview session. Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

    • Demonstrate skilful presentation of themselves during interview session
    • Apply presentable attire/dress code.


YEAR 4 | SEMESTER 7
  • FINAL YEAR PROJECT 2 – (20 WEEKS)
    20 weeks of preparation for the Final Year Project 2 presentation


YEAR 4 | SEMESTER 8
  • INDUSTRIAL TRAINING – (16 WEEKS OR 24 WEEKS)
    24 weeks of Industrial Training attachment at the relevant companies
  • EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAM
    Program to enhance the student’s value and become more marketable.
