UniKL welcomes Australian delegation for educational exchange

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) warmly received a delegation from Australian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) yesterday in a concerted effort to enhance educational connections between the two nations.

The visit, a part of the Australian HEIs Familiarization Program Visit to Malaysia 2023, was organised by Education Malaysia Australia (EMA) and The Australian MARA office.

The delegation, which included representatives from the EMA and 14 Australian HEIs, embarked on a comprehensive tour of the UniKL City Campus.

They explored the state-of-the-art facilities, including the Creative Industry Business Development Centre (CRIB) and the captivating vantage point of Puncak UniKL.

During the visit, UniKL’s Acting President and Chief Executive Officer, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin underscored the importance of UniKL’s foundation programmes and advocated for their recognition by their Australian counterparts.

He emphasised that such recognition would not only benefit the institution but also provide a valuable option for parents and students considering UniKL’s foundation programmes as a stepping stone to higher education.

”I must also emphasise the valuable collaboration opportunities between UniKL and Australian universities. We firmly believe that partnerships in education are a driving force behind global progress.

“UniKL is open to exploring various collaborative initiatives, from joint research projects and faculty exchanges to student mobility programmes,” he stated during his address at the event.

The visit was made possible through collaborative efforts between both countries, with MARA Sydney facilitating UniKL’s inclusion as one of the destinations for this delegation’s visit.

Among present were the Director of Education Malaysia Australia, Dr. Fahmi Abdul Rahim; Deputy President (Academic & Technology) of UniKL, Prof. Dr. Kushsairy Abdul Kadir; Deputy President (Student Development & Campus Lifestyle) of UniKL, Prof. Ts. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long; General Manager of UniKL Infrastructure & Asset Management Division and Covering Chief Management & Services Officer of UniKL, Puan Mariam Yahaya; and Director of Unikl International Office, Dr. Nadia Razali.
