Break your legs! UniKL to send out 10 students at WorldSkills University Challenge 2021

A number of 10 students from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) strive to conquer other contenders at the maiden skills competition, WorldSkills Malaysia University Challenge (WSMUC 2021).

Organised by UniKL Malaysia France Institute (MFI) and Department of Skills Development (DSD), WSMUC 2021 receives 55 participations that will compete in the focused area of future skills, including Mobile Applications Development, Cyber Security, Mechanical Engineering CAD, and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

According to Deputy Dean International, Industrial & Institutional Partnership (IIIP) UniKL MFI, Mohd Zaki Mohamed (pic) said the participants are only allowed to compete in their respective skill areas.

“To compete with contenders from approximately 11 higher learning institutions, the UniKL team has been girding their loins in the last three months ago and they are well prepared.

In the meantime, we also sent them out into online competitions, especially those involving the Mechanical Engineering CAD and Cyber Security in the last two to three months as part of exposure,” told Mohd Zaki, who is also the Competition Director of WSMUC 2021.

He added, the skills competition will see the winning competitors be nominated and represent Malaysia at WorldSkills ASEAN and WorldSkills Asia (WSA) as well as the momentous and major event, WorldSkills Competition.

A maiden competition, WSMUC 2021 aims to promote and expose the competitors to future skills that involve the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0).

WSMUC 2021 will be officially launched on Oct 26, with the first day of competition kicking off on Oct 27.
