UniKL welcomes delegation from APTISI to celebrate a decade of partnership

In a heartwarming celebration of a decade-long partnership, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) proudly welcomed a distinguished delegation of 40 members from the Asosiasi Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Indonesia (APTISI), Indonesia, yesterday.

The occasion marked a significant milestone in the history of both institutions, highlighting their unwavering commitment to collaborative initiatives and global camaraderie.

Over the years, these two educational institutions have embarked on various joint ventures, strengthening ties and fostering cultural exchange.

Among the notable collaborations has been the empowerment of research synergy, with APTISI sending 13 PhD students to UniKL, resulting in a profound exchange of knowledge and expertise.

“This partnership is not just about educational institutions coming together; it is about building bridges between cultures, fostering friendships, and establishing a global network of like-minded individuals committed to positively impacting the world,” stated the Deputy President (International, Industrial & Institutional Partnership) and Acting President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, YBhg. Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin.

The delegation from APTISI marks their first visit to UniKL since 2014. Among the distinguished attendees were key figures from both institutions, including the Deputy President (Student Development & Campus Lifestyle) of UniKL, YBhg. Prof. Ts. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long; General Manager, Infrastructure & Asset Management Division and Covering Chief Management & Services Officer of UniKL, Puan Mariam Yahaya; Director of UniKL International Office, Dr. Nadia Razali; Chairman of APTISI Surakarta, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singgih Purnomo; Vice President of Students Affairs, Co-Operation and Alumni of APTISI Surakarta, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rina Arum Prastyanti; and Chairman of STMIK Sinar Nusantara, Andriani Kusumaningrum.

The occasion also offered a moment of reflection on past achievements. UniKL has welcomed a total of 8 students from Universitas Duta Bangsa Surakarta as part of an exchange mobility programme.

In 2018, a mobility exchange with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Surakarta (STIE Surakarta), a part of APTISI Surakarta, led to the exchange of 2 students from UniKL and 2 students to UniKL.

Additionally, the Customized Programme in 2019 saw 10 students from affiliated universities under APTISI benefiting from a 2-week programme at UniKL.

Dr. Azman expressed his vision for the future of collaboration between UniKL and APTISI, saying, “By exploring new avenues for partnership, we can amplify our collective impact on society. Jointly addressing regional challenges, we can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives within our communities.

“We are committed to nurturing and expanding faculty and student exchange programmes, which will facilitate the seamless flow of ideas, expertise, and experiences.”
